New Walking Working Surface Regulations Require Inspections

On January 17th, OSHA releases new Walking Working Surfaces requirements, which include a requirement for periodic inspections.  The regulation states:

"The employer must ensure: Walking and working surfaces are inspected, regularly and as necessary, and maintained in a safe condition." - 29 CFR 1910.22(d)(1)

We don't know any details of the cause, but it seems likely that regular inspections could have prevented this tragedy.
