Who Can Certify Employees To Wear Respirators?
OSHA does not list any specific required qualifications for respiratory protection trainers. Employers need to select a trainer that can conduct the training in a manner that is "understandable to the employee" (1910.134(k)(2) and can ensure the employees can demonstrate knowledge of the required subjects.
Does this course certify me to teach workers to use respirators?
This course will provide the knowledge, understanding and documentation required to certify employees on respirator use. However, the employer makes the final determination on who can train employees. We recommend the employer complete a trainer designation form, which is included in this course.
